Caring for PU leather - practical advice

What PU leather is

PU leather is in the area of massage tables An inexpensive, environmentally friendly alternative to leather. It is dyed split leather with a varying thickness of polyurethane coating.

  • This coating makes the PU leather look like full-grain leather, but it always has a shiny surface.
  • This is not breathable, so the feeling when contacting PU leather is more like that of artificial leather (colder, sticking to the skin).

Care instructions for coated split leather

  • The PU leather used on Master massage tables is oil- and water-resistant. However, PU leather must be dusted regularly with a lint-free cloth and then cleaned with a neutral detergent. Alcohol-based cleaners and disinfectants will strip the leather surface and are therefore not recommended.
  • Apply this to a soft, lint-free cloth and slightly moisten it. This product removes light dirt—including grease, etc.—and restores the surface's shine.

We recommend a PU cover or fitted sheet for daily use of the massage table to better protect the leather.
